ICC Alert Orbund Instant Alert is a College service used to send emergency alerts, notifications, and updates to your home phone or cell phone, and/or e-mail account. In the event of a campus closing or emergency, Instant Alert will send important updates to a landline phones, cell phones, e-mail addresses or other mobile devices. Students must have correct phone number and email address on file in admission office Closings will be announced by the Executive Director and communicated to other staff members.
Inclement Weather and Non-scheduled Closings
In the event of an emergency or inclement weather, a decision regarding a closing or late opening will be made by 6:00 A.M. In the absence of any announcement, classes will be held. Announcements will be made as follows: Day Closings: When college center is closed, all classes are canceled. No faculty, staff, or students are to report to that campus. Evening Class Closings: An announcement regarding the cancellation of evening classes will be made as soon as possible. If there is no announcement, classes will be held. Late Openings: Classes will begin when the college officially opens. Safety Notice: If classes are held, each individual must assess conditions at the point from which that person is traveling, since conditions can vary greatly throughout the service region. No one is expected to place attendance above personal safety. However, if a student does miss a class, it will be the student’s responsibility to contact the professor as soon as possible to make arrangements for completing class work. Announcements: In addition to Instant Alert, closing announcements will be posted on: KELO LAND TV and on KDKO-89.5 FM Radio CALL THE COLLEGE AT 605-384-3997 IF YOU ARE NOT SURE.
Ihanktonwan Community College (ICC) publishes an Annual Report regarding the previous year operation. The ICC Charter calls for an annual meeting to be held in March of each year. The Ihanktonwan Community College supports educational activities, which are relevant and important for the general population of the Tribe and communities. ICC encourages the use of its facilities by community groups, to the extent that such use does not interfere with the orderly conduct of college affairs or conflict with the college’s educational mission and its role as the higher education institution for the Ihanktonwan Oyate (Yankton Sioux Tribe).
The following priorities apply to the use of the college’s general educational facilities:
• the regular instructional programs, including all degree-related and certification programs, courses offered for credit and approved student services;
• other College-sponsored activities, including non-credit courses and programs, workshops, conferences, meetings, and cultural events;
• events and activities other than those sponsored by the college.Reservation forms (and policies regarding use of facilities) are available from the receptionist. Every event must be scheduled using the appropriate form below.
To request a form to schedule an event at the college center, or to obtain additional information, please call the receptionist at 605-384-3997. Reservations forms must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the requested event date and approved by the Executive Director.
